LysR-type transcriptional regulator CARR represses the expression of bla (CAR-2) and reduces P. diazotrophicus resistance to cefalothin, cefuroxime and cefotaxime.
The study identifies bla CAR-2 as a novel subclass B3 metallo-beta-lactamase that confers resistance to cefalothin, cefuroxime, and cefotaxime. The LysR-type transcriptional regulator CARR represses the expression of bla CAR-2, thereby reducing the resistance of P. diazotrophicus to these antibiotics.
