Novel Genes Related to Ceftriaxone Resistance Found among Ceftriaxone-Resistant Neisseria gonorrhoeae Strains Selected In Vitro.
The study identified mutations in the penA and ftsX genes that contribute to ceftriaxone resistance in Neisseria gonorrhoeae. The A501V mutation in penA and the T31P mutation in ftsX were shown to increase the MIC of ceftriaxone.
