The study identifies and characterizes the Vga proteins, including vga(A), vga(A)v, vga(B), and Lmo0919, as conferring resistance to streptogramin A (SGA) and lincosamides in staphylococci. It also shows that vga(B) increases resistance to pristinamycin, a combination of SGA and SGB.

The study identified several intrinsic antimicrobial resistance genes in Listeria monocytogenes strains, including fosX, norB, sul, and lmo0919, which confer resistance to fosfomycin, quinolones, sulfonamides, and lincosamides, respectively.
