The study identifies the σ(P)-NagA-L1/L2 regulatory circuit as a key factor in the ΔompA(299-356)-mediated increase in β-lactam susceptibility in Stenotrophomonas maltophilia. The upregulation of nagA and rpoP was shown to contribute to this increased susceptibility.
