The study identifies a novel OmpK36 porin variant (OmpK36V) in an ertapenem-resistant Klebsiella pneumoniae clone, which contributes to ertapenem resistance. Additionally, a nonsense mutation in the ompK35 gene leads to the loss of OmpK35 expression, further enhancing resistance.
