Overview
Targeted next-generation sequencing of Mycobacterium tuberculosis from patient samples: lessons learned from high drug-resistant burden clinical settings in Bangladesh.
The study evaluated the performance of targeted next-generation sequencing (tNGS) for detecting drug-resistant tuberculosis (DR-TB) directly from clinical specimens in Bangladesh. tNGS showed high sensitivity and specificity for detecting resistance to rifampicin, isoniazid, fluoroquinolones, and aminoglycosides, making it a promising tool for rapid and comprehensive drug susceptibility testing.
