D-alanyl-D-alanine carboxypeptidase
Overview
Characterization of SCO4439, a D-alanyl-D-alanine carboxypeptidase involved in spore cell wall maturation, resistance, and germination in Streptomyces coelicolor.
The study characterizes SCO4439, a D-alanyl-D-alanine carboxypeptidase involved in spore cell wall maturation, resistance, and germination in Streptomyces coelicolor. Mutation of SCO4439 leads to increased resistance to acid and heat and decreased resistance to glycopeptides. The gene was experimentally validated through mutant analysis and complementation.
