Identification of the streptothricin and tunicamycin biosynthetic gene clusters by genome mining in Streptomyces sp. strain fd1-xmd.
The study identifies the complete biosynthetic gene clusters for streptothricin (ST) and tunicamycin (TM) in Streptomyces sp. strain fd1-xmd through genome mining and experimental validation. The ST and TM gene clusters were successfully expressed in Streptomyces coelicolor M1146, confirming their roles in producing these bioactive compounds.
