The vanY_n gene from Nonomuraea sp. ATCC 39727 was successfully expressed in Streptomyces venezuelae, conferring glycopeptide resistance. The C-terminal His6-VanY_n retained enzymatic activity, while the N-terminal His6-VanY_n did not.
