Predicted integral membrane protein
Overview
Pathogen-encoded Rum DNA polymerase drives rapid bacterial drug resistance.
The study shows that the R391-encoded Rum DNA polymerase significantly accelerates the development of ciprofloxacin (CIP) resistance in E. coli under various stress conditions. A single amino acid substitution in RecA, M197D, effectively eliminates the Rum pol-induced CIP resistance.
